Client Assignments

Threadneedle Asset Management

Difm are now in year three of our partnership with threadneedle. This year as well as providing on going training for all the company, we have delivered specific derivatives training for the middle office team. The highlight was one to one training for the head of the derivatives middle office.

BNY Mellon

With their increase in Hedge Fund activity this year, difm were asked to deliver Hedge Fund training to BNY Mellon. This included an in depth study of how hedge funds operate and the controls necessary to avoid operational risks.

Barclays Global Investors

As BGI have seen their reliance on derivatives grow throughout 2006, so their need for ‘derivative aware’ professionals across the business has increased. Last year saw a concentration on the basic, Interest Rate and Equity Swaps. However, the use of increasingly sophisticated products and the growth of Liability Driven Investments, has led to a resultant growth in their training requirements in 2007.

Cazenove Capital

Our Managing Director, Mark Doran, is currently Non-Executive Director of Cazenove’s Derivatives Oversight Committee. In this role he brings vital expertise to their decisions relating to their derivatives-related business. We have also completed a number of training assignments this year.

Citibank and Northern Trust

These Global Custodians have found the role of derivatives expanding throughout 2006. Their training requirements have covered areas including product knowledge within the Fund Management arena, the Middle Office Role, Fund Accounting, Collateral Management etc.

Latent Zero

As a provider of technology, Latent Zero continue to use difm’s services to increase their knowledge and derivative skills. They told us that this would, in turn, allow them to provide a much improved service to their clients.

Hendersons

Hendersons have required in-house half day workshops to cover the whole range of derivative products that they are now using. This covered a broad range, from futures to the highly sophisticated var and vol swaps. Particular attention was focused on operational risk. A half day workshop was run several times with this in mind.
